Capacity Building Input for Government Staff

Training on the Risks involved in Child Marriage

STEP's Mobile Teams project recently conducted an online training on the challenges of Child Marriage in the city of Sulaimaniyah, which is in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Sixteen people attended and were made up of Government Staff from the Department of Labour and Social Affairs (DOLSA), Nursery Staff, Juvenile Police, and Civil Court staff.

Online Child Support Succeeding

Over 500 beneficiaries have been participating in the ongoing online sessions for children and youth. These have been run by the staff at STEP's Mobile Teams Child Support Centres. They have included non-formal education classes like English, Arabic & Kurdish language classes - as well as handcraft sessions, music classes, decoration advice, and the importance of recycling
