Through these sessions the children and young people have discovered new skills and talents and improved established ones through the efforts of our staff. Many of these young people have improved so much that they can now attend English classes without the need of supplementary translation. Other participants have had the chance to be motivational speakers and started hosting sessions for their peers on critical social, environmental, and other important issues.
Other groups of participants have shown real talent in recycling by making use of leftover materials in decoration and handcraft.
STEP's Mobile Team project run Child Support Centres (CSC) as places where vulnerable children from the Syrian Refugee, Iraqi Internally displaced and local Kurdish communities can access a safe and friendly environment where they can play and integrate with those of other communities - they are able to learn and express themselves freely. Alongside this, parents and caregivers can also access support for parenting and child protection issues at these centres.
