Capacity Building Input for Government Staff

STEP's Mobile Teams project, which is funded by the UNHCR, conducted two online Sexual Harassment training sessions for local Police and Education Department staff. Each training lasted for 4 hours and in total 32 people participated in the training.

The aim of this activity was to give detailed information on proper intervention methods to those that are dealing directly and indirectly with vulnerable children and families. It also created a space for people to share their experiences and allow discussion on Child Protection issues.

Normally, these training sessions are held face to face. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, STEP shifted the training to an online platform. This has meant that despite all the restrictions, those that are on the frontline of child protection issues are still able to access information and updates - all from the comfort of their own homes.
